I consider myself to be a Leonardo Dicaprio fan. I've watched him sketch a naked heiress wearing a blue diamond in "Titanic", track detectives in "The Departed", run away with thousands of dollars in "Catch Me If You Can", melt hearts in "Romeo&Juliet", dream dreams in "Inception", lose his mind in "Shutter Island, ..... well, you get the picture.
Dicaprio's latest installment is "The Great Gatsby"; glamorous clothes, cigarette holders, prohibition and deception.
Although the 1920's fashion and uber-chic interior design concepts were both indeed eye-catching, the true star of this film is ..........drum roll please.......THE SOUNDTRACK.
Featuring the likes of "Beyonce", "Florence & The Machine", "Gotye" and "Will.I.Am", the eclectic mix is a somehow sexy and refreshing mess of a party. A few of the film's scenes feature soundtrack tunes by "Jay-Z".
Lana Del Rey's "Young & Beautiful" is my new best friend. The haunting and erotic ballad has already scored over 4 million views on "YouTube". The full soundtrack is also available for listening.
I haven't bought a film soundtrack since "The Bodyguard". This is the one.
