September 27th marked the grand opening of Room Service Restaurant and Lounge in Miami Beach. Residing where Club B.E.D. once dominated, Room Service offers up a play on the amenities you'd expect at a hotel. The waitress and host staff are all elegantly dressed in maid and bell hop uniforms and the establishment even features an "Early Check In" menu. Needless to say, I enjoyed the passed hors d'oeuvres and Perrier Jouet Champagne samples. Hopefully, no one will be checking out anytime soon. Pics to follow.

This year’s edition of Art Basel Miami Beach will feature 257 leading international

galleries, with work ranging from the Modern period of the early 20th century to the

most contemporary. Application numbers have again been high, exceeding those

for 2011, with more than 680 galleries competing to participate. Taking place at the

Miami Beach Convention Center from December 6 to December 9, 2012, the show,

whose main sponsor is UBS, will present a geographically diverse selection of

As 2012 quickly approaches its close, I am growing more and more excited. Art Basel Miami Beach is gearing up to be one of the most spectacular and inspirational art shows yet. Showcasing artists and works from around the globe, it is the country's biggest art event. This will mark my first year in attendance, although those in the art, music and fashion world have told me nothing but great things. I can't wait. Leonardo Hidalgo "Hollywood" Exhibit Opening Reception

This past Thursday night was the opening of Leonardo Hidalgo's "Hollywood" exhibit in Downtown Miami. The venue of choice set the appropriate backdrop for all things pink, glamorous and pop art. Mick Jagger , Marilyn Monroe , Tony Montana , David Bowie and Queen Elizabeth were featured in some of my favorite pieces. Limited edition T-Shirts bearing Hidalgo's artwork are currently on sale. Nailed To The Wall

I started wearing acrylic nail extensions while I was still in middle school (about 13 yrs old). I always found it beautifully fascinating and glamourous to have your fingertips bathed in artistic color and design. When I entered my freshmen year of highschool, I met a girl that introduced me to a super talented nail tech named Jay. Me and my friends would be at the nail salon for hours into the night as he perfected every digit. Although my mother was upset that she had to wait for me, she could'nt help but marvel at his craftsmanship. He was a master at airbrushing, "junk" nails, money nails, snake nails, puzzle piece nails etc. I lost touch with him over time, as I went through a non nail extension phase, just getting manicures. Now, I'm back! The new kid on the block is Ms. Sierra Storey. She specializes in similar nail aesthetic, however, she does all of her art work by hand. She's the reason that I'm back into the nail craze. Nails have definitely become a fashion accessory. If you're ever in Miami, she's a definite must see.
